Spot the difference – dog edition

Recently I posted a worksheet dedicated to cat lovers. Naturally, today it is time to post something for the dog lovers :). Two pictures, nine differences all about dogs and dog accessories. Can you name them all?

Vocabulary

  • collar;
  • leash;
  • poop bags;
  • chew bone;
  • rope/rope chew toy;
  • rubber chicken/squeak toy.

Spot the difference

Level – A1, A2, B1

Age groups – all

Time – 5-10 minutes

Goal – You can set different goals with this activity. First of all, it can serve as a warm-up for a conversation about pets as it will get your students speaking as well as it will help you gauge their knowledge of pet vocabulary. The exercices can be used to practice speaking or writing.

Instructions:

  • SPEAKING – Frist, print and cut the sheet. Then pair your students. The goal is to ask questions and describe the pictures to find the differences. Make sure they cannot see each other’s pictures.
  • SPEAKING – If you have individual classes, do the exerices with your student. Talk about the pictures to find the differences. Guide the conversation whenever necessary by asking additional questions.
  • WRITING – First show the picture A to your students for 60-90 seconds and ask them to remember as many details as possible. After that time, hide picture A and show them picture B. Ask them to write down all the differences they can remember. Encourage full sentences. Set a time limit of 3-4 minutes. Once ready, discuss with your class what the differences were.

Happy teaching and learning!
