Asking questions – Lucy’s day

Learning how to ask questions in English is just as important as answering them! That’s why I created this fun pair activity based on Lucy’s day. It comes in two versions: one for A1-A2 learners and another for B1-B2. Student A and Student B each get a different worksheet with gaps in the story—and to complete them, they must ask each other questions!

This is a great way to practise speaking, build confidence, and improve fluency. Plus, it works well with both teenagers and adults. The activity also includes a helpful answer key with suggested questions and answers, but there’s room for creativity too—other questions can work just as well!

Happy learning & teaching!
